3 year position for a modeler/data analyst focusing on vector-borne diseases

We are about to kick off a new Horizon-funded project called GEOAI4EI, where we’ll be focused on producing models and maps to estimate the risk of vector-borne zoonoses. We are actively searching for talents with strong experience in data analysis and modeling, particularly in the vector-borne pathogens field. Specifically, we'll be modeling vector (mosquitoes and ticks) and host (rodents) distribution for pathogen (in particular WNV and TBE) transmission risk forecast. The candidate should ideally have some prior knowledge of different modeling and statistical techniques, in particular machine learning algorithms.

The selection list generated from this broad call will remain valid for two years. This is a big deal because we have submitted several other project proposals, meaning this single application could open the door for multiple future hiring opportunities (not only focused on modeling but also possibly on field and lab work) down the line!
