This PhD position in biostatistics belongs to a new research project hosted at the Institute of Medical Informatics, Biometry and Epidemiology, Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany. The project is concerned with the statistical analysis of infectious disease spread. Specialized regression methods for surveillance data allow us, for example, to evaluate socio-demographic and environmental factors, and to forecast infectious disease spread. The aim of this project is to extend these statistical modelling frameworks and provide open-source (R) implementations of all methodological developments.
The initial contract will be for 2.5 years and can be extended afterwards.
After the first year, the position involves a small amount of teaching medical students (the course is held in German).
