Mathematical modeller position for disease surveillance and epidemic forecasting
Defence Science and Technology Group - Australia are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated mathematical modeller for disease surveillance and epidemic forecasting to join our Bioterrorism Preparedness Strategic Research Initiative team. As a member of the team you will be required to perform innovative research into disease surveillance and epidemic modelling, with the goals of developing software tools for:
-The early detection of disease outbreaks and biological attacks.
-Forecasting disease outbreaks of Defence and public health concern.
-Providing decision support tools for the control of epidemics/pandemics.
-Modelling disease outbreaks to inform military preparedness.
As a member of the Bioterrorism Preparedness Strategic Research Initiative team you will collaborate closely with leading Australian and international universities, as well as partnering with defence S&T agencies in other nations.
The role is only open to Australian Citizens. It is a permanent position and a relevant PhD is a prerequisite.
