Multiple Research Associate/Research Fellow positions in dengue and arbovirus epidemiology and modelling — NUS Singapore
The Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health (SSHSPH) at the National University of Singapore (NUS) is hiring multiple Research Associates (Master's) and Research Fellows (PhD) to join a new computational epidemiology group led by Dr Angkana T. Huang, embedded within the Centre for Epidemic Research and Modelling (CERM).
The group uses computational methods to understand the ecology and evolution of dengue and related arboviruses across Asia and globally, with the long-term goal of generating insights that make interventions better designed, more effectively deployed, and resilient to an ever-evolving infectious disease landscape. Research spans population-level processes shaping infection patterns, the molecular basis of virus properties such as antigenicity, and the development of computational methods to infer epidemiological quantities. Candidates with ambitions to pursue independent research questions of mutual interest are strongly encouraged to apply.
Successful candidates will contribute to research design, computational analyses, and manuscript preparation, and will work closely with regional partners and world-leading international collaborators. Research Fellows will additionally be expected to lead projects, mentor junior researchers, and contribute to grant applications.
Applicants should have proficiency in at least one programming language (Python or R), experience with mathematical or statistical modelling, and strong written and verbal communication skills. Research Associates should hold a Master's degree or equivalent in epidemiology, biostatistics/statistics, computational biology/bioinformatics, infectious disease modelling, or a closely related field. Research Fellows should hold a PhD in a relevant field and have a demonstrated publication track record. Experience in quantitative ecology is an advantage.
The group is committed to open science, equitable partnerships, and scientific rigour. Candidates who share these values are strongly encouraged to apply.
To apply, send a cover letter highlighting career goals and relevant experience, and a CV with contact details of three referees, via the NUS careers portal: https://careers.nus.edu.sg/job/Research-AssociateResearch-Fellow-%28Epidemiology-and-Modelling%29/32186-en_GB/.
