PhD in the health economics of infectious disease (UNSW Sydney)
Seeking expressions of interest from prospective PhD candidates to undertake research on the health economics of infectious diseases at the School of Population Health (SPH), UNSW. This represents an excellent opportunity for a strong student to move into the field of health economics.
The SPH at UNSW is internationally recognised as a leader in public health with research strengths across a range of health disciplines, including infectious diseases and immunisation. The SPH also has strong associations with research centres and institutes both nationally and internationally.
The research involves using health economic and infectious disease modelling to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of vaccination strategies. It will apply a range of research methods including economic evaluation, computational methods, and statistical analyses.
Any selected candidate/s will apply for a competitive UNSW scholarship with the assistance of the supervisory team.
Please only apply if you have:
- An undergraduate and/or postgrad degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g. mathematics, statistics).
- Experience building mathematical models and/or coding in R, Python, MatLab, or equivalent.
- At least 2 first author peer-reviewed publications indexed in Web of Sciences and/or Scopus.
