Postdoctoral researcher infectious disease modelling
We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher in infectious disease modelling, epidemiology, and public health analytics. This position is embedded in TIMERA: Training Initiative for Modeling Epidemic Response in Africa, a Global Health EDCTP3-funded project on epidemic preparedness and modelling capacity strengthening in sub-Saharan Africa. https://www.global-health-edctp3.europa.eu/projects/timera_en
You will work closely with Dr Federica Giardina at Radboudumc and with partners in Europe and sub-Saharan Africa. The position focuses on research using modelling and infectious disease and public health data. Additional duties include developing teaching material, delivering selected teaching activities, and supervising or mentoring fellows working on applied modelling projects.
Your main tasks and responsibilities will be:
Conduct applied research in infectious disease modelling, epidemiology, and public health analytics.
Contribute to teaching material and deliver selected training activities, including face-to-face sessions in sub-Saharan Africa.
Supervise and mentor fellows or trainees working on policy-relevant modelling projects.
Translate modelling results into evidence relevant for outbreak preparedness, epidemic response, and public health decision-making.
Contribute to scientific publications, project reports, dissemination, and consortium activities.
Collaborate with academic partners, National Public Health Institutes, ministries of health, and other public health stakeholders.
