Real-time modelling and inference of SARS-CoV-2 transmission and control
Real-time modelling of infectious disease outbreaks has been a prominent part of scientific advice in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. The aim of this project is to compare and expand methods for real-time modelling of Covid-19 and assess their utility for evaluating interventions and real-time decision making. This will be done using a combination of mathematical modelling and statistical analysis applied to subnational time series of Covid-19 cases, hospitalisations and deaths, as well as wider novel data streams
There is scope to broaden the project to other outbreaks of infectious diseases and consider a range of methodologies, depending on the student's interest.
