Research Fellow in Infectious Disease Modelling, novel framework and tool to estimate drivers of transmission

We are recruiting a 3 year postdoctoral researcher to join a new project aimed at understanding the drivers of infectious disease transmissibility (Rt). The research will develop and apply a novel modelling framework that merges branching-process and renewal equation approaches with GLM/GAM statistical models. The postdoc will lead the development of the statistical framework, simulation studies, analyse real epidemiological datasets, help develop a new open source R package (Rtglm). The work will also involve collaboration with national and international partners. [jobs.sussex.ac.uk], [jobs.ac.uk]
Candidate profile:
A PhD in infectious disease modelling, statistics, mathematical epidemiology, data science, or a related quantitative field. Strong coding and statistical modelling skills, and an interest in methodological innovation and open science. [jobs.sussex.ac.uk]
