Research Fellow position available in the world-leading tuberculosis (TB) Modelling group at LSHTM

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Research Fellow to join the world-leading tuberculosis (TB) Modelling group at LSHTM.

The successful candidate will be supervised by Dr Rebecca Clark and Prof Richard White and will join a highly successful and supportive TB modelling group, with scope to take initiative for research within the field.

The successful candidate will contribute to projects within the group, that may include the potential impact of new TB vaccines, extending recent advances in the conceptualization of TB natural history, and examining the optimal combination of TB interventions across multiple countries. Work will be a mix of individual responsibilities and collaboration with colleagues within wider teams. The project will involve adaptation and running of the mathematical model ‘TBMod’ using R and XML, calibrated using ‘hmer’ and/or ABC.

The post-holder must have a postgraduate degree, ideally a doctoral degree, in a relevant topic and relevant experience with mathematical modelling of infectious diseases. Strong knowledge of a programming language (e.g. R, Python) is essential. Experience in mathematical modelling of TB and of modelling vaccines is desirable. Further particulars are included in the job description.

Applicants are encouraged to contact Dr Rebecca Clark (Rebecca.clark@lshtm.ac.uk) and/or Prof Richard White (Richard.white@lshtm.ac.uk) for an informal discussion prior to submitting a formal application.
