We're hiring a postdoc or staff scientist in Epidemiology to work on malaria epidemiology and malaria vaccine introduction.

This project is focused on analyzing data collected as part of a longitudinal cohort of children who have and have not received the malaria vaccine in a high transmission area of Zambia. We are evaluating the effectiveness of the vaccine in an area where infections are common, many children will have been infected prior to vaccination, and transmission remains high throughout the year. The position will require the analysis of molecular (e.g. genomics, serological, immunological) endpoints as well as epidemiological outcomes. Additionally, they will be required to work with our collaborators in Zambia and help support additional statistical analyses. The ideal candidate will have both quantitative experience in epidemiology, statistics, and/or modeling and experience in working with molecular data sets. Applicants with, or nearing completion of, a doctoral degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, or a related public health field will be considered. We will also consider those with the relevant experience as a staff scientist position instead of a postdoctoral fellowship. Those with experience in malaria or technical expertise in molecular epidemiology will be given priority.
The successful applicant will work with Dr. Amy Wesolowski and colleagues in the US and Zambia. This interdisciplinary team consists of epidemiologists, biostatisticians, entomologists, and clinicals all working to better understand malaria transmission and epidemiology in these settings.
The position will be for 1-2 years, depending on applicant interest and career plans.
